The CE marking is a mandatory European marking for certain product groups to indicate conformity with the essential health and safety requirements set out in European Directives. The WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive is the European Community Directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment that came into force in February 2003.
